Folic Acid, also known as Vitamin B9:
Folic acid, a yellow
crystaline water soluble vitamin, part of the B-complex group of
vitamins. Folic Acid works with other b group vitamins in the production of red
blood cells. Folic acid is crucial for the division of cells and is also
involved in passing genetic codes from parents to children during conception and
early stages of pregnancy - a vital step in ensuring that the baby is healthy.
With Vitamin B12, folic acid acts as a coenzyme in the breakdown of of
proteins and forming nucleic acid and hemoglobin.
