Marshmallow belongs to a very large family of Mallows (Malvacaea)
found abundantly in the tropics and reducing in numbers in colder regions. Marsh
Mallow itself can be found throughout Europe and is cultivated all over the
world. The Medicinal use of this plant dates back to the time of the Roman
empire when it was grown in almost every garden for its healing properties. Flowers,
leaves and roots are harvested from this plant.
