| A Herbal Vinegar is
a method of combining a vinegar with a herb to enhance the taste of the vinegar
and to leach some of the benefits of the herb into the vinegar. The vinegar is
then used as a dressing on salads or in other food. This method is very
infrequently used for therapeutic purposes but is widely used for culinary
reasons. Not only does the herb change and enhance the taste of the vinegar but
with some herbs the end result is aesthetically pleasing too as herbs often
retain their shape and colour in vinegar. Oil is often used instead of
vinegar for the same reasons.
