| Yeast Infections Description:
Yeast infections (also called Yeast Vaginitis) is caused by excessive growth of
the yeast Candida Albicans that is normally present in the body. The most
prevalent sites are the mouth or vagina and, although more women suffer from
this problem than men, it can happen to anyone regardless of age or sex.
Yeast Vaginitis is very rarely transmitted sexually. Treatment is the same
as for candida or candidiases - see our Candida page
