| Warts Description:
A wart is normally a small benign skin growth caused by a papovavirus.
There are, unfortunately several other blemishes and moles that are not benign
but may look like warts so if you are in doubt at all please consult your doctor
and skin specialist.Unless you are absolutely sure that you are dealing with a
common, benign wart, DO NOT treat it with anything. Stimulating a growth that
could become cancerous if disturbed may threaten your life.
Warts are normally painless and will disappear without medication after a few
years. Plantar warts can be painful if they are located beneath the foot.
With the exception of venereal and plantar warts, warts (also called verrucas)
are not very contagious and hardly ever spread from one person to another. They
can however easily be spread from one part of the body to another so it is best
to leave them alone and not pick or bite them.
