| Typhoid Description:
Typhus refers to a group of infectious diseases caused by Rickettsia which is
normally spread by infected rodents and parasites carried by them. These
diseases cause extreme headaches, fevers, chills, and a rash. Although there are
several individual infectious diseases that fall in this group (epidemic typhus,
murine typhus, Rocky mountain spotted fever) they all could get to epidemic
proportions unless controlled. if you suspect typhus see a doctor
immediately - all of these diseases can be fatal. Today the more common
use of the word Typhoid refers to Typhoid fever, a bacterial infection caused by
Salmonella Typhi, transmitted in contaminated water, milk or food. Symptoms are
dizziness, headaches, high temperatures, cough, diarrhoea and a rash. Typhoid is
also called salmonella poisoning. See a doctor immediately and discuss the use
of herbal remedies as a complimentary alternative medicine.
