Sunburn is a skin injury caused by exposure to sunlight. Symptoms are redness
and tenderness and in extreme cases blistering. There is no such thing as
harmless exposure to the sun. Sun tanning is the major cause of skin cancer and
is not necessarily related to excessive exposure to the sun. Frequent, brief,
exposure can also cause cancer and often does.
