| Worms Description:
A worm is an invertebrate with no limbs.
There are essentially five worms that cause most intestinal infestations in
humans. These are Tape Worms, Round Worms, Hookworm
and Pinworm.
Roundworm (of which there are many species, including Pinworm) can range from
very small to over an inch. Symptoms are mild in most cases but can cause
malnutrition in severe cases. Symptoms of mild cases are not easily detected and
it is only when it becomes severe that abdominal pain and even congested lungs
can occur.
Hookworm symptoms are anemia caused by iron deficiency and abdominal pain.
Hookworms attach to the wall of the intestine and feed of the host's blood.
Tape Worms are dealt wit separately as it responds to
different medication.
