| Inflammation Description:
Inflammation is a protective response of the body tissues to a trauma,
irritation or injury. Vasoconstriction is followed by vascular permeability
which can continue for a prolonged period while normal, healthy cells are being
built. Inflammation can be exceptionally painful and debilitating.
Swelling, redness and local pain is normal but in extreme cases the effect can
be paralytic on one or more limbs. The extent of the damage normally
determine how long it will last but it is also possible that the inflammation
may become chronic.
