| Gonorrhoea Description:
Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted disease that can also be contracted by an
unborn baby if the mother is infected during or before gestation. The organism
Neisseria gonorrhoea is the cause of the infection. In The United
States all cases of Gonorrhoea have to be reported to local health departments.
The disease is very infectious and all sexual contacts must be reported.
Gonorrhoea initially affects the genitals and urinary tract and occasionally the
rectum. Symptoms are a yellow to green puss-like discharge from the
penis in men and from the uterus and vagina in women. This is accompanied by
itching, burning and even painful genital area. Often genitals are swollen and
women may experience extreme vaginal swelling. If unchecked the infection
can spread to the liver, hands, wrists, ankles and feet. Mostly in women this
could be accompanied by headaches and vomiting. This is another one of
those cases where I feel that I should not offer any alternate solutions. As
almost all alternative and holistic modalities are many hundreds, if not
thousands, of years old it is difficult not to include Gonorrhoea as the
treatment of this disease was certainly one of their bigger challenges.
