| Symptom Description: Angina is a choking suffocating feeling often accompanied by pain and a crushing feeling. What we normally refer to as Angina is really Angina Pectoris, which is a paroxysmal thoracic pain most frequently caused by myocardial anoxia (caused by a blockage, narrowing or spasm of the coronary arteries). The sensation experienced with Angina Pectoris can vary significantly from person to person. It is typically a crushing sensation in the chest (frequently accompanied by a sense of doom) and the pain can extent up the neck into the jaw as well as radiate along the inner side of the left arm. There are many variations in the symptoms of Angina Pectoris, not all of them have to be present to make it life threatening. It is impossible for the patient to differentiate between Angina Pectoris and Myocardial Infarction (commonly known as a heart attack). This is not a condition that can be treated at home. Only a fool believes that the improvement that takes a rigid regime needed over a very prolonged time can be achieved on the spot by taking some medicine. See your doctor first and consult him before taking any complimentary alternate medicine - many of the prescription drugs will not be compatible with other substances.
