Caution: Most peels work on the basis that they dissolve the outer layer of the skin, thereby allowing new and fresh skin to form, which is why and how they improve the softness and appearance of the skin. To do this they all contain an active ingredient (acid or glycolic, for example) that many people are sensitive or allergic to. Sensitivity to these products must be tested before applying to the face and even then it is important to follow the instructions very carefully and to never leave the peel on for longer than specified.*
