Cardiac Glycosides increase systolic contraction and are mostly used to
stimulate the heart to empty more rapidly therefore giving more rest to the

appropriately qualified specialist. The therapeutic dose of these compounds is
very close to the toxic dose. Symptoms of overdosing are vomiting, diarrhoea,
headaches and cardiac failure. |
