Canavanine: A Non-protein Amino Acid. Canavanine is
antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, antiviral and antineoplastic. Canavanine
(more specifically L-canavanine) is a major constituent of alfalfa seeds.

the synthesis of proteins. Of the 22 known amino acids eight (essential amino
